Did you know?

Even though HCN and cyanides are acute toxins, they are actually naturally-occurring substances that can be found in certain fruits and vegetables. The most common of these are almonds, soybeans, bamboo shoots, cassava and spinach. In addition, cyanides, or chemicals that are metabolised to cyanides, are found in those fruits containing a pip, such as cherries, apricots and apples. And, if you smoke, hydrogen cyanide can be found in the cigarette smoke as well.

Cyanides are naturally present in nature.
